The state of Vermont is very unique in that it requires a state party to organize a certain number of “Town Caucus” meetings to become an officially recognized party. They require that we hold at least ten of these meetings by the end of the year to gain “Minor Party Status”. A five days notice must be given to the Town Clerk’s office. At the meeting we must elect a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer for that town. This information must be provided to the Town Clerk within three days following the meeting.

For more information on how to organize these meetings, please see the “Guide to Political Party Organizing in Vermont”.
